There are some car donation organizations that take out all expenses before sending any money to a nonprofit.  That’s where we’re different!

    And in Colorado, we advertise! 

In addition to the advertising your organization provides for the solicitations of automobile donations, Cars Helping Charities, Inc. also advertises on behalf of all our affiliated non-profits in the Metro-Denver area and statewide.

How much money does the non-profit receive?

     50% of the sales price (less towing fees), not the net.

Your 501(c)(3) organization will receive a minimum of 50% of the gross sales proceeds of each vehicle donated, less any towing costs. Since we only sell at retail or full market value, you are receiving maximum amount for each donated vehicle. Cars Helping Charities will incur all other expenses in acquiring said vehicle:  advertising, marketing, title fees, insurance and bonds, accounting fees and any and all other operating expenses.

When will the organization receive the money?

     Approximately six to eight weeks after the donation.

It takes approximately 30 days to process and sell said vehicle after it is donated.  The monies received from the Buyer by the 31st of each month will be sent by the 15^th of the following month. 

Do we have to sign anything?

     Yes!

What can be donated?

     Any motorized vehicle with a clear and transferable title.

We accept cars, trucks, vans, fleet vehicles, boats, snowmobiles, jet skis, motorcycles, buses, trailers, and RV’s and  we tow it at no charge to the Donor.  You, as the non-profit of choice will benefit, no matter the condition of the vehicle.

What is the process of donating a vehicle?

Cars Helping Charities, Inc. will advertise and market for the solicitation of donated automobiles.  When a Donor calls to donate a vehicle and chooses their non-profit, we then send a tow company to pick up the vehicle, the towing company leaves a vehicle donation receipt and delivers the vehicle to the Buyer.  The towing company brings us the title and we transfer the title to our name, then to the  Purchaser's name.  We send the non-profit a check for 50% of the total proceeds received for the vehicle, less the tow fee.  Affiliated non-profits will receive at least 50% of the proceeds for each vehicle. 

Can we be listed on this website or your co-branded website?

Yes! When you complete the enrollment process, we construct a full page on this website to highlight your group. The page briefly describes your group's purpose, recent activities and indicates how the funds from a donated vehicle might be used to further the organization's mission. And we include an attractive photo or two that you provide, and a direct link to your website. All at no charge to you!

We also offer, at a small one-time set-up charge, a co-branded website. This option allows for a visitor to your site to come directly to our co-branded website, but maintains the name of your group on every page. This keeps your group's name in front of the potential donor and helps differentiate your group from the growing list of nonprofits on our more public website. While at the co-branded site, the potential donor learns all about the vehicle donation process and is provided two convenient options to immediately start the process - either by phone or through an easy online fill-in form that is emailed directly to us. We provide a stylized icon that you can include on your website that includes our color scheme, or we can choose a different color to help maintain the look and feel of your site.
